There are about 22,000 persons of India origin in Madagascar, including approximately 2500 Indian passport holders.  Most of them are in trading but also manufacturing and other businesses. In recent years a number of Indian professionals have been working in different companies including multi-national companies in Madagascar. The role played by the Indian community and diaspora in economic development of Madagascar is appreciated at all levels.  Some of the Indian Diaspora are quite influential and their contribution to the total GDP of Madagascar is substantial.  The Indian Diaspora has been playing a significant role in preserving and promoting Indian culture and traditional values.


14th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

The Ministry of External Affairs and Government of India will be organizing 14th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention(PBD-2017) from 7 to 9 January 2017 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The details of the PBD-2017 programme can be seen at URL: https://pbdindia.gov.in/ .

Delegates who are keen to participate are requested to kindly register online and make payment of Registration Fees through the Payment Gateway on this portal. The deadline for registration is 7 December 2016. Hence, members of the Indian community are requested to register for the event at the earliest.
